Correct door frame paint photos...

Today I removed the driver's door panel on my 68 Charger to try to lube and adjust the the window glass. The window cranks up and down pretty hard so I figured it was time to do something about it. My Charger is a very original survivor as some of you may already know. Since the door panel had never been removed until today. I decided to take a few photos to show how the factory painted the black on the door frames.  As you can see this is a red car with a black interior. I have seen a lot of restored Chargers missing this detail.

would it have had a sheet of plastic stuck between the card and the door from factory?

I had already removed the plastic when the pictures were taken. You can still see the glue that the factory used to hold the plastic in place. The factory glued it on the top and sides only. The plastic is then tucked into the slot along the bottom then taped with a black paper like tape.
When I reinstalled the plastic I glued back on using clear RTV.

One other thing, my Charger will be in the Survivor Tent at Carlisle. So if anyone wants to get a close up look, stop by and say Hi. If you want to climb under the rope to get even a better look, that is ok too.

I have a 69 door that still has remnants of the factory tape masking tape in a few spots.

Nice pics! I know we all have pet peeves....that is mine when edges/bottom of doors are left body color instead of interior color.
