This may have been discussed already?......

But I recently met a Mopar enthusiast who has an awesome 70 challenger 440-6 clone car...
we got to talking about 440's and hard starting issues...he showed me his stock fuel pump push rod....man was it ever worn...he also had a brand new comp cams push rod which was at least almost a full 1/2" longer then the worn stock rod
apparently this is a huge common problem that mopar had a huge batch made with to soft of metal...and they wear out quickly

which leads to very hard starting. lack of power etc....I came home and checked my own yet to be installed one and it was also very worn......
I had measured the comp cams one and I believe it was 81 mm long....
So check yours out to!

just thought I would share .....excuse me if already posted

A383Wing

stock length is 3-1/4" long....I got 3 new ones here and one used one....all same length

It was a large batch that made it into production that were not heat treated properly.......many may be ok....the ones I seen and checked were well worn, so if anybody has a car that has hard starting this maybe the cause..
