we are looking at a car in the Adairville, Kentucky  area and if purchased would need it transported to Idaho.

Does anyone have a carrier they have used and liked from that area?

farmerjon

thanks  will check with him  we were hoping for something enclosed but it might not happen

the car is in Adairville, Kentucky 42202   which is close to Nashville, Tenn   is anyone close to that area that might be willing to check on the car

I shipped my `68 Charger R/T up to St. Louis from Texas a little over a year ago. Whatever you do, stay the hell away from brokers, more specifically, avoid AmeriFreight like they have both AIDS and a raging hard-on. They agreed to a 5 day pickup window, and missed it by more than 2 weeks, forcing me to stay in TX 2 weeks longer than planned (missing work, incurring expenses, sitting around with my thumb up my arse. etc...). I called them daily, and they kept telling me "It'll be there in the next day or two". When the driver who picked up the contract finally showed up, he explained that they had only been notified of it 2 days before showing up. The driver was a nice guy who loved old muscle, and they were reasonably priced, but I can't think of their name and have no idea where I put their card.

The moral of the story is, find a place that owns and operates their own trucks. Brokers are worthless.

Called and talked to Joe  they guy you recommended above.  Basiclly he told me if I had to call for a quote I couldn't afford the car and to not bother him.   :brickwall:   I tried to explaine that the total cost of buying the car and getting it to Idaho were connected but he says they are not and that if I have to ask I just can't afford the car.  Don't know what kind of service the rest of you get but in my book that was very very bad.  I have X$  if it is going to cost me $2000 to get the car here I can only bid x-2  if it is going to cost me $1000 I can go higher on the price of the car.  Is that unreasonable?

hey farmerjon, we are now using alpine transporters which is really cheaper at hauling (virginia to st louis mo. for 366.00 both stops right on the freeway) they give a date that you should recieve your car and call with updates. havent used them before, but for that price, we can wait. they just called this morning. so far so good. :2thumbs:                             their # is 801-617-8412 for the guy that is handling ours.
