what did it actually survive?  not being sent to the crusher?  geesh  ::)

QuoteWhat we are offering is an all original 1972 Challenger which has been stored in a dry warehouse since the mid 1980's. This is as close to a survivor as it gets ladies and gentleman. The floors, trunk, and underside are totally solid and original. Even the paint itself is the original paint that this Challenger rolled off of the assembly line with. Body: The body on this Challenger is completely solid as you will notice in the photos below. The floors, frame rails, trunk, trunk extensions, door jams, doors, it is all completely solid. Now as you will notice, there has been some repair work done in certain sections of the car such as on the drivers side rocker, both doors, and within the quarters. The quarters are about the only area that will need repaired or replaced. As you will see, someone at some point tried repairing them with fiberglass. The vinyl top is also original. The glass is also all original and in good shape with no major pitting or scratches. As you will notice, we do have most of the trim for this car and it too is also in good shape with no major pitting or scratches. We are however missing some of the trim along the doors which you will notice within the photos. At one point. someone installed a set of peddles to convert this Challenger to a four speed. The hub has not been compromised and is totally solid. You will also notice down below that we do have the original grill and it too is in good shape. Engine & Mechanical: From what we have gathered, this is an original 318 car. We do not have the original drive train. Unfortunately, we have no motor or transmission for this car at this time. Interior: As you will see, the car is lacking an interior but I do have a factory correct set of buckets which are in fair shape, they will just need seat covers. The foam is in good shape. I also have a complete back seat which is also in fair shape and will only need to be recovered. I will also be including a set of kicker panels. I also have a factory correct steering column with a steering wheel which are also in good shape and I will be including them with the car. Thanks, Shawn 816.308.0351

Could be a decent project but I didn't see the dash or any of the heater/AC box. I wonder if he is going to list the car sitting to the left as a survivor.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

"Survivor" is becoming as over/ab-used as "fully restored" in the car hobby.

I think it's a translational thing and that he was trying to convey the fact the word "survivor" doesn't always mean in great condition.

It looks like it survived being a total bucket of rust, that's about it.

funny ad!
The expression "survivor" is hereby declared veeery loose. It now includes ALL cars that exist from one day to the other, regardless of shape !!
