Can you get a factory- built one for 60k ?  This one was originally built for him.   Waaayyy too much money for me anyway but I happen to know building one for 60k ain't gonna be easy. You better already have the motor

OK buddy, a 68 Dart, rust free 2500 to 4 grand, a complete race hemi motor $18000, a tranny $200 bucks, a dana $2000,  So why can't you build a clone? for les  60.000

Where do you live that you can get things at those prices? To build a close clone of that machine is gonna cost you a lot more, just in parts around here. That is, if you can even find them. Did you notice that the restoration cost the seller over 100k and I assure you it can be picked apart here on DC.Com. The paint alone , if you can paint it yourself, will be 2k and that is just paint. No gun,no painting supplies, no prep materials, no cost applied to your time or anything else. You will have many, many hours spent just prepping the body for paint, if you do it right. To have someone put a proper paint job on it will probably cost you 8 to 10k or more. I haven't even begun to resto the interior yet and it will need all new special parts too that are hard to find or even fabricate.

The car and the Dana might be about right but a race hemi and a tranny and convertor is gonna cost you a lot more around here. Here being S.E. Texas. If you are able to do all the work yourself and are able to find all the parts, I guess you might have 60k in it but I suspect more and that is for a clone that is built today and will never be worth what you have in it. This car is way out of my price range and so would a clone, at least for me. Certainly not saying the car is worth it but ............. you or I are certainly not the target market and I will never be. They made very few '68 HEMI Darts and passed them out very selectively. I, for one, hope he gets his selling price.
