different pulleys?

I have a 318 in my car and I removed the a/c until I can afford to replace it. I notice that the routing of the belt for the alternator would allow the belt to rub the water pump. Is there a different water pump pulley(deeper) to run the belt w/o it rubbing the pump? I'm thinking there is but I wanted some opinions or advice from the gang here. Thanks to all who answer.
