It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

I am saddened for your loss, and my prayers are for you and yours.

It's never easy, even knowing that time is near (I lost my father to cancer in 2002), but your outlook on it is the best you can have.

Revel in the times you had together, and know that he's in a better place doing the things he loved with those that also love him.

No they were the real thing his freind who died in a plane crash started an aviation museum here in asheboro nc. My father bought a few planes a t-6 and bt-13 then a tbm avenger and his last project that was finished a few months ago was a b-25 he named the carolina girl.

My thoughts to you as a son, I've been there.. I still miss him to this day... But, sounds like your Dad's legacy lives on in you..... Your Dad's in a great place.... If the planes become too much to handle, try some of the military musems or the Smithsonian....

I understand a little of what you are going through. My Dad died this past October, very suddenly. I feel he is still around, and will probably feel that way for a very long time, if not always. Like others have said, revel in the good times you had, and remember that he will always be with you. My deepest condolances are with you and your family.
