terrible one

Man poor Pontiac! All because of an incompetent driver . . .  :flame:

It's scary how poorly these old cars hold up to hits from the side. The passenger door being pushed into the cabin looks like it could have taken out passenger and driver  :o

Ouch.. That sucks... I just sent this to my wife and said "This makes me re-think parking along the edge of the road at the weekly AutoZone car show!!"

:eek2:

A friend of mine got all five of his cars damaged in his driveway (his house was damaged also) when a police chase "ended" there.
It could happen anywhere.

I only wish I could get collector car insurance but here in BC it's sort of annoying.

~ No dents, chips in the paint, no scratches, etc.

~ Restored to and Mainted to what the insurance company thinks is a collectible level.

~ Must stay the same way as when first insured with collector plates (meaning once it has collector plates you cannot change anything on the car).

~ Vehicle must not have any equipment on the car that wasn't available when the car was new (ie CD players, electric rad fans, etc)

~ You must either have a non-collector car insured to you or have a company vehicle.

~ You cannot drive your collector car to and from work or school.

~ Your car must have all the original badging, decals, nameplates, etc.

~ You cannot have any decals except approved car club stickers. This means if your car originally didn't have a tail stripe, you can't add one.

~ Car must be kept in a lockable place such as a garage where you can restrict access to the vehicle.

I was given a very large list when I asked about collector car insurance. I was told to make sure my car complies with the list, then take 5 really good pictures. If they approve the pictures I will be scheduled for an in person inspection.

And this is because you're in Canada?????

Yup.

We only have a single insurance company in all of BC.

ICBC has a monopoly on insurance and is run by the Provincial Government.

Some of the rules I read here in USA were even worse. :brickwall:  LEON.

I don't see why "agreed value" insurance would be hard to come by.  It's a very straightforward simple way of dealing with the whole subject.  As long as the agreed figure has some resemblance to the item (318 cars don't get insured for a million dollars, etc) then there's not much reason for either side to complain.
