IMO I'd forego wasting any time/money on header paint. Get them ceramic coated, you'll be very pleased. I'm just sayin'.

i didnt think paint would hold up but i figured id ask just to be sure. someday ill get some ceramic coated ones

Eastwood company has a exh manifold coating that goes on like paint,but is way more durable than any of the other paints I've seen.
Ceramic is still the best method,depends on your budget.

I have header paint on my vette and it has lasted over a year so far, it has ceramic in it.  I will send you the name when I get home.
