Playing around with my vinyl cutter, I made these based on the new Charger emblem.
Personally, I think they look like they belong there plus they seal up the holes from the original emblem and are easier to clean around.

I like it.

Of course I'd rather have a mint pair of originals, but I think it looks fine & serves a purpose. If you bought every single item you need for your car, or have things refinished, it would cost a fortune.

It is different, but different isn't always better. In 10-20 years that'll just look dated. You can't get any better than the originals.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

About a year ago I bought a pair of original two pin sail panel emblems from the Dodge dealer.  I think they listed for about $30 each.  I don't have the PN handy though.  You see them on ebay as NOS.

twodko

You are as creative as always but I just can't hang with that. In this instance I'd pop for the original emblems.  :Twocents:

Good idea, I'll give that a try.

changing the script could be an option if you have that option.

Looks OK on "that" paint but wouldn't on traditional.

Any chance you could email me an .eps file of the script?
I'd like to play around with it too. Maybe I'd put a black outline and use chrome vinyl so it looks closer to a 3D badge.

Gotta love a '69

doctor4766

So I did some today.
I put a 1mm contour around the script and made a black background similar to how a real badge looks.
Then I cut Charger in chrome and overlayed it onto the black.
Turned out ok IMO although the chrome is still wet in the pics and should look better once dried out.

Can do. WIll have to take a pic tomorrow (Mon) though as my car isn't here at home today.

MaximRecoil

I don't like anything on the C-pillar; I think the C-pillar looks much better empty and smooth. Was the original nameplate standard or optional? If standard, was there an option to delete it?

doctor4766

So here it is.

Not sure if the positioning is correct but it's temporary anyway.
Gotta love a '69

440

I just noticed your car doesn't have the vinyl top trim moldings  :scope:

doctor4766

Correct.
It only had the inside ones so I deleted them completely during bodywork.
There were so many parts missing, mostly chrome pieces and I spent a fortune, not to mention months, tracking down replacement parts. Seems anything that could be stripped off the car before it was sold was indeed stripped.
Including the whole heater/AC box.
Gotta love a '69

doctor4766

Oh yeah, and the Charger badges too. Hence this temporary measure.
Although I do kinda like it without them.
Gotta love a '69

440

Well, it was a race car... Anything extra is unneeded weight, luckily you were able to track everything down. How long did your resto take ?  I prefer it without.... However I like the white tail stripe

Chargers cost a fortune, it's killing me....  :'(

doctor4766

Bought the car Jan 2006 and it's been on the road around 2 1/2 years now.
And yeah the white stripe is growing on me too.

With the flat black paint job....I sorta like the block letters on there.  :Twocents:

The block looks cool on the black as others have said, the script looks nice too.  In the end, I prefer the original script emblems.  Thanks for the vector site!

I wonder how a black emblem would look....a ghost emblem. :scratchchin:
