Can anyone tell me what these plates bolted to the rear frame rails are actually for? On my car, all they seemed to do was be an anchor point for the rear bumperettes

I am building a new fuel tank and these will get in the way.

Sweet! Thanks for that, so I can comfortably get rid of them since my exhaust will dump just over the rear diff!

And the old air/hyd. bumper jacks use them as a safe point to lift from.

Yeah I know that one. I will weld in a small panel to the car to hold them in, since they are not structural

bajaherbie

looks like they would work as a wheelie bar/skid plate combo!

The tow bar was welded to those on my Charger when I got it.
We did cut the bar off at the time as it was pretty sucky in appearance.

I will be using those points in the frame rail to mount the new tank also using HD rubber gromets for some movement.

The new bracket will also incorporate some nice new tie down loops as well (just in case it needs to go on a trailer)

Sooooo, anyone here in the US have those brackets with bolts? I need them for my car.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I have the brackets only if you can't find some elsewhere.
I am in Oz though, but postage isn't that expensive.
