Can't figure out what the purpose of these plugs.  Can you help me?

Im thinking brake light wires pink and white

LOL.....it's funny you should mention this, they are the brake light switch wires which I need to check out on my 69 as I have only my right brake lights working.  

I was JUST looking at those very wires

if only yer right brake lights are working....you probably need a turn signal switch....

One pink wire goes to the dome wiring and the other goes to the hazard switch, the hazards only work on the right as well and both signals work properly, so by logical conclusion, I'm thinking more likely a loose/ bad connection on one of the pink wires.

disagree...you have already proven that the brake light switch works....power from brake switch goes up through column and then back down to the rear lights....

you might try checking yer connection under the dash at turn signal connector....

also, have someone step on brake and turn the signal lever to the left & right side and see if the left brake lights come on when right turn signal applied

on a 69 those wires go to the brake/stop lamp switch
