WHITE AND RED 69

Now for some future projects I have planned will be to tackle the brakes. My wilwoods work great with the hydroboost but the small rotors just don't fill up the gap in the wheels. So I got a smoking deal on a set of Baer Brakes with 13" rotors. They are the older "track" setup but calipers were brand new for a used price and Baer supplied the rest of the components so everything is brand new. I also got a set of rears from Baer that have 12" rotors to replace the drums out back. So this will all get installed in the next few weeks.

I also decided to mess with the front spoiler. A while back I went from the standard black to a white one that would match the paint. I'm still debating it but bought another one and did a carbon fiber wrap on it. It looks cool but haven't put in on the car yet so we'll see which one stays on the car.

Soon as I get the rest of the parts I will post up more updates.

Thanks Man! That's one hell of a compliment, but like other cars mine has its flaws, mine is the paint. One of these days I will take care of it. I'm a big fan of your 69 as well.  :2thumbs:

Love that car!! Had my white one not been destroyed, would have loved for it to look like this (except I'd have kept R/T stripe on the back black). The stance is totally bad-ass.

Well, not too much progress lately but I did rebuild the blower motor and installed a new lecarra steering wheel. I liked the billet one I had but I like the full leather wrap much better.

I had ordered all the a/c hoses and everything from Classic Auto Air but there must have been some communication problems cause I only got 1/3 of what I ordered. So hopefully they will fix everything and ship the the right parts soon.

And with more bad news...the water pump gasket decided it didn't want to stay sealed up so this Saturday I'm draining the coolant and pulling the pump. Not looking forward to that.   :brickwall:

I also couldn't resist going with a bigger Baer caliper for the fronts. Got my tax refund so what better way to spend it than on car parts. Luckily the old hub, rotors, and brake lines I had all work with the new calipers. I've got the back ones all painted, the spindles reworked to fit the brackets, and all the parts ready to go on. Might try to get them all installed in the next week or so. Soon as I get the time.

I can't wait to try em out. I almost splurged and went with a bigger SS4 rear kit but my wallet didn't like that idea. Maybe next year?   :scratchchin:

WHITE AND RED 69

Got the water pump and other leaks all taken care of and seems to be holding...for now. Installed all new heater hoses, new fittings, door and trunk weatherstripping, and vapor barriers on the doors and rear. I should have done this years ago but always forgot about it.

Also have a few pics of the white front spoiler. Its growing on me more every day, I think this is the one that's staying on the car.

Finally got the brakes all done they feel great! The front calipers barely fit in the rim though. I measured multiple times to make sure they would fit without spacers and it was very close. The brakes with the hydroboost will out brake most modern performance cars now. Very happy with the results. And they look awesome! Very pleased with Baer products and their service. Only thing left to do is grind down the wheel center caps to make them fit again.

Been driving the car more and have a major overheating problem. If it's moving it's fine but as soon as I hit traffic its game over. I know the water pump and housing have big enough water passages so I thought maybe I had an air pocket in the radiator or some crud blocking it but after bleeding the system and flushing the radiator it seems that the pulleys are doing worse than expected. I knew changing the pulleys might mess with things but I never expected it to be this bad. Called March Performance to get high flow pulleys and it turns out they don't make any for mopars. Fantastic!  :brickwall:  Now I have a nice shiny paper weight. Got a new smaller pulley from another vendor and will add an idler pulleys to reroute the a/c belt. Should have the parts in the next few days so I will update as soon as I get it working.

Also went out of the driveway a little too fast and broke the front spoiler. Good thing it was only $35 bucks. Will be adding new braces to the new one for extra strength, so it will have more of a race car look. Will post pics soon as its done.

EDIT: Turns out the problem with the cooling was all because of the wrong water pump. It just wasn't working well with the larger water pump pulley. Got the correct a/c water pump and fixed the cooling issues.
