WHITE AND RED 69

I've been doing a lot to my charger the past few months and thought it was time to post some pics. I started with my grille which was cracked in a bunch of places and was starting to fall apart. Soon as I got it off the car I realized how bad it was, it was only held in by 3 bolts and every other mounting tab was long gone. So I used a product called plastifix to get all the cracks and broken tabs fixed, got all new hardware from charger specialties, and all the paint from eastwood and got to work. It turned out pretty good but I should have done some more sanding as you can see some of the areas I used filler on but overall I was happy with the results. Its alot nicer than when I started so at least its an improvement. And yes, I know I didn't add the silver around the center. I actually liked it better without it.

I then decided to clean up the engine bay with some new hoses, valve covers, hood insulation pad, and a little touch up paint. I also added a new air intake but I ended up wasting my money as I thought the round air cleaner looks better. Maybe I will use it on some days just to change the look but I like the round one better.  I also upgraded my entire suspension with the hotchkis TVS setup and some edelbrock shocks back in January. It was a bitch to get the proper alignment but the car handles great and is so much more stable at higher speeds. It no longer has that wandering feeling on the freeway and I'm very happy with the results.

I decided to spend today putting carpet in my trunk and I think it turned out pretty good for $20 bucks and an hour of my day. and heres another photo I had.

Future plans:
TTI Headers and exhaust
Edelbrock heads
Baer brakes 4 piston calipers and 13" rotors front and rear
Hydroboost master cylinder

and one of these days I want to get a gearvenders overdrive but it wont be for a while.

Yeah that grille turned out great. I dont think the air intake looks bad. buuuuuut they call those "cold air kits" and obviously that isnt any colder than the air going into the round air cleaner. and the round air cleaner looks more normal on an old musclecar whereas the cold air kit looks a lil out of place.

Don't give up on the intake just yet.  I felt similar until my friend that can work with aluminum got a hold of it.  Granted I had to use this for hood clearance with the EFI system.

That looks sweet! The problem with mine is the drivers side a/c line, it gets right in the way no matter how I position it. I wanted mine to look even on both sides but that a/c line ruins it. I'm thinking to run one of the newer a/c compressors and run all the lines on the passenger side, that could solve the problem and make it look cleaner.

If you can get the lines down and build a bracket just off of the top of the shock tower, you may have enough room to do something similar to mine.  My is a non A/C car so it may not be quite the same situation.
