So, where did the dash pads come from??  new, repro, restored??
The top dash pad is an original just cleaned up!
The gage, radio and glove box bezels are restored originals.
The lower plastic pieces and glove box lid are also originals.

Troy,
I first checked when I saw your wanted ad and found no extras here.
I hope bill finds his extra for you!
I'll keep you in mind as I search for parts.

Bill,
Yes, my car is a 4speed, so it would have the hole for the reverse light, but an auto would work to. I could modify it... But, if you still had the 4speed version and were up to letting it go, that would be cool..

Cheers,
Troy

                                                                                        SEATS!
With the dash coming together the next item of restoration was the seats!
I had the recovered buckets and original back seat with the Superbird.
I also took the original bucket seats and back seat from the 1970 GTX race car to the shop.
The seats out of the race car had been stored since 1970!
Troy picked the best original back seat and decided to clean up the original bucket seats!
When you have nice originals next to the reproductions you can spot the differences.
This first batch of pictures show the original front bucket seat covers before and after cleaning.
The first picture is the bucket bottom fresh out of storage.
The second picture shows it now cleaned up and ready to be reinstalled!
The third picture shows the bucket back fresh out of storage.
The last picture shows it now cleaned up and ready to be reinstalled!
I was surprised how well they came back to life!

Here we get into the seat frames!
The first two pictures are of the seat frames already cleaned up, hung and ready for paint!
The last two pictures show the seat frames painted from different views.

                                                                              SEATS PART 3!
In this batch of pictures we move on to the seat tracks!
Many of these are rusted up and missing parts.
Attached are four pictures showing the seat tracks stripped.

                                                                    SEATS PART 4!
Here we continue on with the seat tracks.
They cleaned up well and didn't have any major issues.
This batch of pictures show them prepped and hung for paint.

                                                                            SEATS PART 5!
In this batch of pictures we conclude the seat tracks and move on to the seat backs.
The first two pictures show a couple of the sea tracks now painted!
The last two pictures are of the original seat backs before restoration.

                                                                                  SEATS FINAL!
This is the last of the pictures for the seats on the August disc.
The first two pictures show some of the seat latch hardware before restoration.
The third picture shows some of the same hardware now painted.
The last picture shows it all coming back together with one of the bucket seats reassembled! NICE!

In my next installment I will share some of my pictures when Linda and I visit Troy's shop
about this time of the restoration!

                                                                            AUGUST SUPERBIRD VISIT!
For those of you following along you get the restoration in bits and pieces.
For Linda and I it was huge progress each time we made the trip down to visit the Superbird.
We tried to go every month to 6 weeks and check on the progress and deliver any parts
that I had come up with to enhance the restoration!
Un fortunately it was also time to pick up any mistakes and parts that were not nice enough.
Keep in mind the last time we had seen the Superbird was when the body was freshly painted.
The pictures that I will share are from our camera and cover the same areas that I have recently posted.
You will see some better views over the shop camera and some added details.
This first batch of pictures show the drivers side front and rear and then the same for the passengers side!

The second picture is of the same view on the passengers side.
The last picture in this batch is of the restored brake booster and master cylinder.
These were ready to be added when it was time for the brakes.

                                                             AUGUST SUPERBIRD VISIT PART 4!
Here we move on to the dash assembly.
The first picture shows the freshly painted dash frame with the original top pad installed.
The second picture shows the front of the dash with the restored bezels in place.
The last picture shows the restored gage cluster and speaker ready for assembly.
It is in this picture you will see about 6 wiper arms and several sets of windshield chrome.
When I dropped off the Superbird for restoration There were the parts on the car and
also the best of my best spares! I was hoping they would have everything they needed.
Here is a short list of 1970 Road Runners and GTX's I parted over the years:
1970 Road Runner white totaled in front stripped on site at Big Jacks salvage yard.
1970 Road Runner burnt orange bought as stripped out stock car project.
1970 Road Runner yellow stripped at friends house before scrapped.
1970 Road Runner purple stripped and scrapped.
1970 GTX blue was burnt and stripped on site at Westville Auto Salvage.
1970 Sport Sattelite red was totaled drivers side stripped and scrapped.
1970 Sport Sattelite white was stripped and scrapped.
This doesn't include swap meet buys that I felt were better than what I had on hand!

The last picture shows the back seat and seat belts in place. WOW!
We were very happy with the amount of progress from the last visit!

DASH ASSEMBLY AND BRAKE BOOSTER DETAILS!
Recently I went over the dash assembly and brake booster restorations and have some added details.
The first picture is of the NOS brake booster valve box Mopar part number 3004626.
The second picture shows the heater control panel restored and installed in the dash!
The restoration work was done by Dave Patik at Performance Car Graphics.
You will also notice the radio and radio knobs now installed.
The last picture is of the vent knobs. I also sent these to Dave Patik for restoration.
On both items Dave re-painted the levers and knobs. Some shops use decals that eventually fail.

John, do you know who they use for heater box restoration?   Or is that done in-house?
