Notwithstanding that any police force would be free to purchase and use whatever vehicle they wanted for a cruiser, did Chrysler specifically offer police vehicles back in the 50's, 60's, or 70's?  Not Chrysler the company but Chrysler the brand.

Do you mean a nameplate of Chrysler, instead of Plymouth or Dodge?  :scratchchin:

I've not heard of nor seen one. Which means there probably was.  :popcrn:

Correct, and I don't mean did Podunk insist on buying one and adding lights and siren but did they offer say a Newport for fleet duty.

Allpar has a page on the topic. http://www.allpar.com/squads/history.html

Sure enough it notes that the 1955 New Jersey State Police used '55 Chrysler Windsors.

I saw some late '70s R-body Chryslers in VA State Police livery on a 1980 trip to Williamsburg.

I remember back in the mid 70's the city I lived in had Ford, Dodge, and one year bought Buick of all things for cruisers. I dont remember any Chevy's. It seems like Ford and then Dodge were the most prevelant. Ford was probably the cheapest.
1972 Charger Topper Special, 360ci, 46RH OD trans, 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gear, 14.93@92 mph.
1973 Charger Rallye, 4 speed, muscle rat. Whatever engine right now?

Chrysler Enforcer started in '61 and I THINK went until '64 or '65

It was actually built as a police vehicle which was based upon a newport.
