So I sold item on ebay and today got a notice from paypal that payment is being held and is being "reviewed" That got me all worried and I decided to contact ebay.
After talking with rep, she told me that it's a new policy that they're starting as to "hold" the money so the buyer of the item does not try to get a refund from seller through paypal but contacts the seller to try to resolve the issues.
Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

Yeah, that is old news. The new news is the rate hikes and the fees are now capped at $100 rather than the previous $50 and the final auction fees are now 9% of the sale price.

Pretty soon it'll be cheaper to fill the tank full of gas compared to paying ebay fees.   ::)

I haven't listed anything on ebay in several years & have had decent luck with craigslist.  :Twocents:

I am really trying with Craigslist. I get lots of spam emails, people who don't follow through, and weirdos that think they are getting a friend with the purchase that it really doesn't seem worth it.

I sell a lot of stuff on craigslist. You get some people who don't follow through from time to time and there's no way around that but you can eliminate all the email headaches by using the hide option and just using a cell number. Never had a problem with it.

Funny thing I noticed a while back with craigslist are the "alleged buyers" who send a 3 word sentence that says, "I'll take it." to get your email address. I used to reply saying, "Take what? I have several items listed." but they never reply ever again. I soon realized it's likely just a phishing scam for active email addresses so they can spam you later.   ::)

Unless someone takes the time to form a coherent message that actually mentions what it is I am selling, I just delete it assuming it's BS.
