I have a bunch to post, but I'll start with the members I actually took photos of. I'll add more photos as the week goes on and I get bored with work.

It actually was a good day, weather wise, with threatening rain early but dry conditions prevailing. As Frank (SFRT) mentioned in his thread he took home two trophies. Kudos to him and his hard work.  :2thumbs:

Shown below is SFRT (Frank), 68X426 (Dan) (with his wife Sarah in the background), Brock Samson (David) (with a very close Lady friend) and Marco (36 Dodge Brothers). I saw a bunch of other members but did not get them documented electronically. I spent my time evenly split between taking photos and talking to car owners. Pretty much everyone there was a good soul (I do have an amusing story I'll relate later). And it was exciting for me to meet two original '68 XP Charger owners, with their cars, and to get their stories (and contact info). Needless to say they still loved their cars. I took dozens of detail shots on one '68 XP engine bay that included a working and pristine cruise control. Lots of options on that car. Awesome....

On the insanity note, I'll show a bit more on 68X426's car. It is a work of art that happens to eat tires.  :2thumbs:

And there were a couple of passengers in the back seat. Can you make out their names?

Thanks Dan for being my pimp. Your check is in the mail. :icon_smile_big:

The ride home was awesome, the most scenic skies ever across the Valley and the Sierra. Two nice thunderstorms, then beautiful skies, and the car ran great.

Excellent show, and what a bonus to meet up with so many cool people, except I am still chasing Frank. Maybe Sacramento on June 25?

It was a cool day indeed...  :2thumbs: Linda and I picked up the Newlyweds - Mr. & Mrs. Caveman, at their hotel 'n cruised out to the Show in a most roundabout fashion, Then, Channeling Bill Hickman over the San Francisco hills - Bullett Style, we had a nice ride.  :D  After a great dinner at a Fisherman's' Warf favorite we left them in a huge cloud of tire smoke on their way to Hawaii. I Sure hope no one called the Cops.  :scratchchin:
Great seeing everyone out there and meeting up with folks. but, as always, it's hit and miss with meeting DC.com members.
Good times! Congrats again Frank! That Car you built is AWEsome!!!!  :yesnod:

O.K., time to put up a few more pics. The first two are mine, and the last photo is of a "freshened up" original owner '68 XP. What a treasure....  :drool5:  More on the owner later.

The second photo is of Richard Nelson and his original '68 he ordered from the factory. As he was not too prosperous (he was in the Military) when ordered the car, he specified the 3-speed on the tree to save some green - it reduced the price about a Franklin. It has been changed over the years to a 4-speed overdrive. The last two photos are of SFRT's award winning Charger.  :2thumbs:

Nice job on the pictures Dan. I didn't get a chance to walk the show, unfortunately. I saw alot of the older cars as they drove in but was unable to spend any time with them. These pics sure help, Thanks.  :2thumbs:

i was impressed by that '58 Desoto, it was a 20K mile original car, the tires were new. and maybe the oil and plugs and gas in the tank, i evenliked it better as a 4 door for some strange reason too...   :shruggy:

Here are four more. The last one is of Orv Cusik. He ordered his Charger from the factory way back when, with the SPD being his birthday. We had a great conversation about his car, the idiosyncrasies about the '68's, and his original factory cruise control. The car was "freshened" up a few years ago (took it apart completely), and everything looks and works great. I probably took 50 photos of his engine bay alone. A true '68 aficionado.

The last two are of my baby. I think I'm allowed.  ;)

One amusing story that I alluded to earlier involved a Mopar (not a Charger) owner and his wife. It seem as she was setting up color coordinated folding chairs and umbrellas next to his pride and joy when he started loudly berating her. As I recollect the diatribe, he said (correction - yelled) "No, the yellow umbrella goes with the red chair, and the red umbrella goes with the yellow chair. Honey, you have to do it right! Look, you may come to one of these shows by yourself and how you arrange these chairs and umbrellas is very important. It's a subtle thing! You have to do it right to bring home the hardware!"  Just fricking amazing....  :P

Overall it was a great show. I met a couple original '68 Chargers owners, with lots of original paperwork, and a lot of the membership, and saw a lot of nice Mopars.

I guess I missed reading that guys instruction manual, 'cause I got a blue pop-up, red and green chairs, an orange car and a Norwegian wife who likes 63 Chevies and who would smack me if I pulled that shit.

Thanks for posting all the pics. Outstanding show it was, and your pics help tell the story.  :2thumbs:

if i talked to my wife like that in public, she would've placed the color coodinated umbrellas through the rear window, and deposited the chairs through the windshield. and then said "is that subtle enough for you?" :smilielol:
