As many of you know, I got finally a forged 383 crank... noticed will require to be undercut 010 at least. Mains, specially front one looks far away from good, rest some decent. Rods looks really good from the distance but when you touch, some SMALL irregularities or minimal grooves can be felt.

Ok, I have pistons, rods, crank is forged. Damper is not on hands yet, but CAN I SENT TO THE MACHINE JOB to make the cut and balancing job without the damper ?.

It should be posible being forged dampers are neutrally ballanced, same as TCs, BUT WANTED TO ASK FIRST TO BE SURE.

This is the damper I got

but still storaged in Florida waiting to be overseas shipped, allong with the bigger valves, but waiting for which rod and mains bearings will need to get ( being sure 010 and not 020 ). So I want to began the balancing job at the same time of the undercut if posible still without the damper in hands.

Yes you can send your assembly to be balanced without the damper. Later, when you get your damper, take it to the machine shop and they can check the balance of the damper and rebalance it, IF neccessary.
