Restoring A 1969 Dodge Charger B5 Blue

Today we started restoring a 1969 Dodge Charger. Numbers matching 383 engine with 727 trans. We are going to put the car back to the factory color B5 blue with white top and and will add a white stripe. First step was to strip the car down to bare medal. The reason we did not strip the rear quarters is because we are going to put two brand new AMD rear quarters on it. We then got all the glue off the top for the next vinyl top. I will post up some progress pics and keep you updated. Please post any questions or comments about one of our restorations.

Why would a 383 car have a stripe?

It would have a Solid stripe like a R/T but not the R/T lettering. It also helps break up all the blue.

You can do that if you want be it wouldnt have come that way from the factory.

I cant get the pics before stripping to download, but the car was gray with black top and white stripe before we started.

Yeah, all the tint is coming off the car. Makes it look nasty.

My dad told me that was my task to do. Its already starting to peel off, so thats good. My dad, me, his buddy (who has a 1969 Camaro SS 427 4-Speed) helped us put some speekers in my 69 Charger today. Next step for my Charger is to hook up the CD player.

How do I do it? My dad and my uncle built the car from the ground up. My dad also had a Sassy Grass Green 73 Charger. My sister loved that car and I liked the black Charger and then it was set. They are our inheritens.

Awesome dad you have! So when you are 16 you will drive the black one.
