Are there supposed to be spacers in between the intake & exhaust rocker arms on a small block 318?

We have a D200 Pickup in our shop and they are missing...I think they are supposed to be there....I have no info or pictures in my 68 Plymouth service manual.

Pics of said washer spacers?

Small blocks do not use spacers on the rocker shafts...
