...Are cool as hell but damn they can hold some water.  I'm sure you 2nd gen guys and those with 3rd gen super bee inserts know what I'm talking about.  That's all I had to say.

I've heard the hood on my Power Wagon referred to as the "Rain Grabber" option.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Gotta love the "POWER WAGON" emblems in those hoods.  :2thumbs:

Yeah, don't I know it?..   :eek2: :yesnod: The stock hood on the '71 RR would hold Approx. a pint of water,.. living on such a steep hill really helped and that damn water would overwhelm the channels and pool up in the trunk so i had to take special care to bale the gallon or so that would collect after a storm,.. I used multipe beach towels and painters tape over the trunk gaps but it was problematic,.. One more reason I sold when i lost my garage storage... I couldn't bear to see it deteriorate before my eyes.. So you guys in the flat lands have it easy in ways you don't even realize, living on a hill the doors wont stay open unless you park downhill &  hoods and trunks sometimes wont stay up and you can't get an accurate reading on fluids etc... etc...   etc...... :brickwall:

mine grabs alot of water when it open

i keep my 68 r/t outside with a cover. the water pools in the part where the hood blinker is and then leaks on to my left header . yep rusted a hole in my header and i had to replace it  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

My 2nd gen doesn't see mist let alone water on its hood. :rotz:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Yeah, you hardly ever see a dodge truck hood that isnt rusted or faded in those scalops.  One pet peeve of mine is the styling of Darts, And Scamps, and the door and front fenders on B Bodys.  Not so much on Chargers, since the door line is different, but on Coronets and Satellites, the scallop in the top of the door.

The little concave area has always irritated me.  After washing and cleaning, if you let it sit out overnight, or if it rains the day after you wash it, the water puddles on the top of the door and leaves little dirt marks when it dries.

The hoods on the old dodge pickups are literally called bird baths at least here in North Central Pennsylvania lol. I have one on my 73 Adventurer Sport and my 77 Trailduster
