There is annual cruise in my hometown to kind of kick off the season and last night was that night.  There are typically a few hundred cars show up for it and there is a bit of a festival that goes on for the weekend.  The thing that really struck me last night though was the number of  cars that were local and no one could recall seeing them before.  Talking to some of the owners they all insist they drive them all the time but I don't where.  I live in a small community (55,000) so it shouldn't be that hard to notice them should it?
Just shows how rich your area can actually be in old cars I guess.

"I drive it all the time" is pretty meaningless in the old car world.  I see cars with 10-15yo tires and the owners are still claiming to drive them a lot.

or maybe you need to get out more often?

That would apply if it were only me but some others had the same observation and between the 4 of us, we get out as much as anyone.

Probably a reference to your post total....    But I do know what you mean. I took the '68 up to the City today and everyone acted like they hadn't seen one in years. And I know there are dozens upon dozens in the area....
