Doing some work on my clock. Spring question.

I have been working on my guage cluster and trying to get everything working again.  So I decided to work on my clock.  I took the back off and started inspecting it.  I noticed that this little black spring had come lose on one end.  I figured out that this spring is what keeps tension on the cog to keep the clock ticking.  I suspect this probably is what's wrong with most clocks.  If I can just reconnect to end of the spring, the clock should work perfectly.  Where does it connect?  Pic below.

Never mind I figured it out.  This was a simple fix.  If any of you have non-working clocks this could be all that is wrong with it.  Only took only 10 mins to fix!

It's just as simple as hooking the spring back up.  I couldn't locate where to hook the loose end of the spring at first but I found it.  Just wrapped the spring around  the cog, hooked it to the little post, and it works. Here's a picture below of where the spring hooks on to.  This picture is drawn as if your clock is facing you just like it would in your car. Hope that helps!

If you can't get your clock working, I'll trade you my working clock for your hemi.....deal? :icon_smile_wink:

HANDM

I too just fixed my clock!....It wasnt the spring however, it was just  a little gummy inside, a little oil a little delicate re-assembly and BAM!  :D

I have it set up on the battery to see how well it keeps time befor I re-install.  :2thumbs:

I also cleaned up the inside of my hazard switch and now it too is working like a champ!  :2thumbs:

I assume I need to remove the whole dash gauge cluster to get to the clock? Meaning disconnect the odometer and such?

HANDM

I haven't yet tried to remove the clock with cluster in place, I'm sure it can be done since the clock slides in from the back.

I removed mine cause I wanted to clean up the hazard switch and get it working
