The ship sinks, then he finds out that the whole thing was a dream.

and Jack was a Ghost that has been dead all this time, and the moon shows his true form, and something about a pearl.

Never seen Deathproof.

Consider yourself lucky then.

Death Proof is the most annoying movie I've ever seen. For about 11 years, Twister (1996) was the most annoying movie I'd ever seen, but it doesn't hold a candle to Death Proof.

Genius cinema that some people won't get... fan of "titanic" I assume?

That's a joke, right?

That's a joke, right?

No, watchin it again right now.

Seems the humor, cinematography, dialogue and character development that Tarantino exhibits is too much for some people...

Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're

Your vague movie review buzzwords notwithstanding (which can safely be applied to any movie; safely, because they can't ever be proven wrong), Death Proof was boring as the day is long. The only "relief" from the boredom came in the form of annoying (... and inane ... and long-winded ... ) dialog from a group of airheaded chicks (I'd rather be bored than annoyed, which is why relief is in quotes).

TK73

Well, opinions are like Camaros...

Enjoy your titanic...

I've never seen Titanic, nor do I plan to.

By the way, what other "Girl Powerâ„¢" (lol) movies do you like? Coyote Ugly? Spice World? I'd hang out at the local beauty salon if I wanted to listen to a flock of airheads blathering on.

QT's dialogue is the writing equivalent of putting a pair of tits onscreen - it's fun to watch for a little while, but it's not actual filmmaking.

IMHO it's a lot more challenging to write less "showy" dialogue that just serves the characters/storyline.

Even worse: the dialog in Death Proof seemed more like a parody of Quentin Tarantino dialog than actual Quentin Tarantino dialog. He's probably heard from fans so much about how great his rambling, off-the-wall, non-plot-advancing dialog is, and he went way overboard for this movie. Listening to bird-brains spew out what seemed like hours of pure inanity is not my idea of an entertaining movie.

I didn't mind the "rambling" talk from the second set of girls-i mean, good looking women talking about car movies and cars? sold. i'm partial to rosario dawson and the cheerleader characters, yummy yummy!

Death proof was the most boring movie I have ever seen in my life. Not to mention destroying two mopars. I know they can be "fixed" but I don't even want to see one scratched up. I like the way the directors today try and capture chase scenes like that of Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and Vanishing Point. Those movies were made out of an era and they cannot be matched. Just like Gone In 60 Seconds. They could spend millions trying to recapture that movie and will never come close. THe original was way better. Death proof was painful to watch. I almost turned it off half way through it and now I kind of wish I would've.  :2thumbs:

Its difficult to go back to relive a previous fond memory. The classics, Bullitt, Dirty Mary, Vanishing Point and the others are classics for a variety of reasons. One of them is that they were made in a time when ALL of us were younger and more innocent. Our perspectives have changed over the years and even if these classics were remade true to their original scripts ,(With different actors, of course) the older generation would STILL think that the originals were better.
Ever go BACK to your old neighborhood? The place may look similar, but it FEELS much different. Ever meet up with an old girlfriend and try to rekindle a romance?  How about driving these classic cars..... WE have changed over the years. Driving a pure stock '65-72 Musclecar seems to feel different now than we remember from when they were new.

Mike DC

Very true.  Even shot-for-shot remakes of classic films would not feel the same.  The artists put something into every piece of artwork that is intangible and it's never the same twice.
