Spoke briefly with the original owner of a virtually untouched 69 Charger RT at a local show. Original paint, motor, etc.

 :2thumbs:    A real survivor!

That's probably pretty close to what Black Betty looked like from the factory.

Looks like rear window louvers in there too. I haven't seen any of those in ages & can't recall if they were home made or something.  :shruggy:

Nice car.

is that A/C unit available from the dealer back in the day?

Wow, the paint is awesome.  Green was very popular back in the late 60's.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

JRGBoss

I did not get too talk to him much because he was going to watch the car parade. He did say that he added the hitch to tow his boat, which was the main reason for buying 440. Otherwise everything was like the day he picked it up at the dealership. That is a dealer installed A/C option and yes there were rear window louver on the car.

He lives in Moreno Valley so I expect I will bump into him once again at some other show or perhaps at next years show. I did get to see the engine and he told me that the valve covers have never been removed. Engine compartment and engine looked pretty original and unrestored.

As he was closing the hood of the car I asked him if he had ever had the engine rebuilt, that's when he answered that not even the valve covers had been removed. So this car is still working on original gaskets. The only thing that I thought was odd was the newer California plate. He must have not registered for a few years.

No, I was too slow. It all looked like it should and was well maintained for not having been restored. He did have some fuse for his CB that he had screwed into a wood block that looked a bit funky.

TUFCAT you will probably enjoy this pic GTX 440. It was taken at the same show as the green Charger. All original exterior and interior except wheels.

I'm out here in Murrieta area and know of four more Charger owners out this way.  Three are on the forum.  Saw a 70 like this 6 months ago heading to Hemet but it was in poorer condition.  More survivors are out there.

JRGBoss

Charger owners are definitely in the area and would be a great idea if meets could be coordinated in the future. Here is another fine example I saw on Sunday. Personalized plate of "AnyBeer".

My car was originally bought from Moss Motors in Riverside and it still has the original plate frames.  White one looks sharp!
