Where can I get metal welding gears for inside a mig welding wire feed unit? I got a mig welder an belive it or not but the gears are plastic  :slap: . The teeth on the original set already got strip afew days ago.. so I had to replace them with more plastic. I want to go metal gears this time around an say heck with the plastic garbage.

Depends on the make of the welder. Any name brand unit, & you should be able to buy replacements. All though any name brand would not have plastic gears to begin with. If you bought it new, would go back & see if you can up grade to steel, if not check & see if there were older models built with steel ones. You might be able to find an older machine & get them, good luck.  :2thumbs:.

I don't want replacement parts, if I did I would have bought the warrenty. I didn't buy the warrenty because I didn't want the same headach over and over. I have already replace the whole gears in it with bigger ones but yet they are also plastic.. I'm looking for metal ones, if I can't find a place i will take the unit apart and convert the gears to chain driven or something and do away with the plastic.

You don't want the headache? Sounds like you have one now. I bet it is a Harbor Freight POS. Buy a Miller and be done.
