i have a factory 360 - how do i know if it is a long block or short block??

Ghoste

If it has heads and intake its a long block if its just the reciprocating assembly stuffed into the block its a short one.

FLG

Just to add onto what Ghoste said,

Physically there is no "long" block or "short" block, but rather its just a term used to describe how assembled the engine is.

If im selling a 440 short block, i have a 440 with a rotating assembly installed (crank, rods, pistons) if im selling a long block, it usually means it has the heads....and sometimes but not always an intake manifold.
