fuel pump push rod question

Well I tried to start my 70 R/T this weekend after many many years of restoration and I have come down to the last problem that keeps it from starting. I do not think that the fuel pump push rod is engaging the fuel pump. I have looked in my books but can not find a length for how long the push rod should be. The fuel pump does seem to have some vacuum but I am wondering if it might have a tear in it. I blew air back thru the line and I can hear bubbles in the tank so I know the line is not plugged and the pick up in the tank is under gas. Would a good parts store have a way to test my fuel pump? Anyone got a measurement on the push rod lenght? :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:
