Well I am about finally ready to fire up my 440 for the first time. I have actually tried starting is a few times but had problems. everytime I tried to start it I always primed the oil pump. I was wondering if there was any kind of special kind of engine break in oil I should use for the first time. i am kind of worried that my failed attempt to start the motor may have washed away all the cam lube that was on the cam when I assembled the engine. Any thoughts :shruggy:

tricky lugnuts

I'm using straight 30 weight (per advice of cam manufacturer and engine builder) with a bottle of Comp Cams Break-In Lube and Oil Additive to start my engine up for the first time, and I plan to use more of it with the first oil change and oil changes thereafter:

There are many other such products out there.

Hopefully you've gotten those problems worked out and can get a good start this time!
