A little high? When a year ago it was listed at $170K, which was extremely high at that time too.

I don't get it. How do you expect to get $250K for a car  that was advertised last year as being origional paint and this and that, and now it has been shown to have been restored. If it was a survivor then I would say $250K is fine, still high but understandable.

I sold that car in 2001 for 45k (What a mistake). Needed a car with a four speed? Wish I had it back it was a good car.

Do you have an aero car now?

Oh & welcome to the site.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

So Ed, is that when you purchased your Bronze 500? Or did you have that one before that?

How is the restoration of the R6 HEMI 500 coming along? I had talked to the previous owner about that car multiple times. He wasn't ever interested in selling it, until after he had sold the B5 blue HEMI 500 he had. Now i guess he has sold both of them.

I had the T5 car before I sold the R4 car and thats what made it easy at the time to sell it. But it was a bad mistake! That red car was pretty much all original except for the paint job and it turned a lot more heads then the T5 car did. I had a thing about having only 4 spd cars and the fact  that I had a 4spd 500 (And back then even though they where my favorite car  they where not that popular) I thought I was doing the right thing.Four years later I found the R6 car and hope to have it ready for Brice road in Aug. The shop thats it in does great work but they don't seem to be as agressive as I am. Anyway I am looking foward to having both 500's done and in the same garage and the T5 car will still be my favorite!

Does ANY shop finish when you think they will (or want them to or say they will or...)? :P

That would be sweet to be able to walk out to a garage and see those two 500's sitting side by side.  That is definately a sweet combination you have there. Did you see his B5 blue HEMI 500 4 speed car that he had the year before he decided to sell the R6 car? I believe it was the HEMI 500 that used to be at R&R in the 80's. I'm not positive on that one, but I had heard that.
Your T5 bronze car is gorgeous. I have seen it multiple times at shows, and I'm always impressed with it. I was really suprised at this years Mopar nationals to see 2 HEMI Bronze 500's. When I saw one driving through I thought it was yours, and then realized that it was Jerry's car from Missouri. Also a gorgeous car. Both make my car look bad, then again it doesn't take much to do that. I haven't seen many 500's at shows that are in the condition of mine. Everyone I've seen at shows has been restored. Mine needs a lot of work, but one of these days.

Wow thats a little less than what I am planning on paying for a house in NC.

Your car isn't that bad.  It may not be at the standard you have planned for it yet but it's a damn nice car!

Danny, come on man.... Your C500 looks good.. Believe me,,,, Dana's no where near to the condition of Ed's T5. I've never seen the R6 other the picks that the previous owner had, Pete?  At any rate, my friend, you have a real C500... Patience my friend, you WILL have a freshly restored C500 one day......  In the meantime, enjoy like I'm doing.....

Don't get me wrong its not a horrible car. I wasn't meaning to come accross like that. But to me its just a driver car, but it really needs quite a bit to be up to what I'd really like in a driver car. It is heads and shoulders above the Bronze Sunroof car I sold to move up to the 500 however.
I'll put it this way, my car is a good maybe 20-30 footer. If you get closer than that, you can see the bubbles in the lower quarters, dents and dings here and there on the car. Interior is pretty good overall. Only noticible problems is the upper door pads are cracked, along with the front arm rest, and the rear window trim is gone on the inside.
Ed's car is gorgeous. I saw the R6 car once in person, and it wasn't that bad in my opinion. I know it needed a paint job to really be up to show quality, but was very presentable before then. I was told at one time that it was the origional paint on the car, but later told I think it had 1 repaint. Now my 500 had a repaint in the mid 70's and it desperately needs another one. The color is way off from a factory R4, it has way more of an orange tint than R4 should.

With a house you keep paying every month and in most cases only get back what you put in.  the C500 will (should)(i hope) gain vaule faster than the house.  Well. its probably a wash, but the C500 has value anywhere... the house only has value in the city that its in..

OK, i'm done being captain obvious for the night....  (too many Makers Marks... hehehehe)

Yeah the car has a broader appeal than a house in a certain area. People like houses for locations and such. People go after cars for many reasons. A C500 will always have appeal to someone somewhere. Now a house in an area, after many years might not appeal to anybody anymore.

I'd invest as much money in a car as I would a house if it was possible.
