I just thought I'd share pictures of this smashed '72 Duster I've been robbing parts off of. I spotted it an insurance company lot near me back in September and tried buying it for a parts car however when I tried, it wasn't up for auction yet. I went to a junkyard to get parts for my Mustang and there it sat. So far, I bought the mint headliner, door sill trim, emblems and horn cap for $45. I still want the dash vents, possibly the dash pad and a few other things :icon_smile_wink:

terrible one

What a shame! The car looks very nice and absolutely fixable. That interior (what's left) is mint! Either way, great that you got a good deal on the parts.  :2thumbs:

OH.... That perfect taillight panel and lenses! ONE year only parts!
That dash pad is NICE!  I agree, pillage the whole car if you can, or pass along the location so we can have a stab at it.
Thanks for posting. Nice clear photos. Impressive.

I'm going to try to grab as much as possible.....as long as their prices stay reasonable :2thumbs: Believe it or not, those pictures are from my cell phone.

Even if the front frame rail is bent, that Duster looks like an easy fix.  ::)

If it's as clean as it looks, buy the whole car and part it out. OR go in with a chop saw and make a nice profit for a weekends worth of work

Ask them what they will take for all the parts left on the car less the VIN tag.  :D

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

TUFCAT

Remove a shopping cart full of parts from this car and get a volume discount!!!....you might do very well on eBay!  :2thumbs:

Those body panels are also worth some large...the doors, decklid, and right fender look mint! Somebody will eventually come along and cut the quarters off (even though I don't condone cutting up cars) - - but since this A$$Hole won't sell it whole you might as well make some money and supply parts for people who really need them...  :Twocents:

TUFCAT

This car is just waiting to be picked apart by vultures...... If not by you, it will be someone else. Trust me. :icon_smile_dissapprove:

I was just thinking the same thing... That's one clean car!!!

TUFCAT

Grab as much as you can.....a few weekends of work - then lots of time selling and shipping stuff on ebay could net you some decent money towards getting your Duster painted.  :icon_smile_wink:

Had I known then what I know now... I would have never done some of the things I did when I was in highschool.

I went through eight Dusters and Demons back then as though they were Bic lighters. You could pick up a pretty clean 340 car for $250.00 to $800.00 back then. Yea... I beat the crap out of them till they died or did my best dukes airborn dives with them just because I could.
(amazing I survived my youth)

The only one I kept intact was a '71 set up for street and strip with a 440/727 combo out of a roadrunner. It ended up wrapped around a tree by my older sister. Lucky it had a "real" full roll cage in it. She walked away without a scratch. (can't say the same about the tree)

Good luck with your build Cody hope you get your hands on it.

With AMD out there now, I can't see the body panels being worth much more than what repops can be bought for...Use what you can to get yours back in shape Cody.

Luckily mine is in very good shape body wise and doesn't need any panel replacement let alone rust repair. I've bought some stuff for my car like the headliner, a-pillar moldings, dash pad and dash vents. I wanted the marker lights too however somebody soaked the wheel wells in 20 pounds of under coating so the front ones are impossible to get and the back ones I believe mine are in better shape.

Kern Dog

The '72 and up side marker lenses are cheap enough to buy new. $50 usually gets you a set at a car show.
