Washer button not working

I'm assuming it is likely a bad ground, but I don't see a ground on the switch so I assume the pump is grounded on the inner fender area where it is mounted under the washer bottle?  Could someone tell me where/how the washer pump/button system is supposed to be grounded so I can check it?  The only other thing I can think of is I may have the brown wires on the washer button/wiper switch crossed up.  Since they are all single spade connectors and not a shaped plug I wasn't 100% sure how it was supposed to be wired up properly.  There are two spare spade pins on the bottom of the wiper switch, and two pins on the washer button.  There is one brown wire that comes along with the wiper switch pigtail, the brown jumper wire that is about 4"-5" long, and the brown washer wire on the harness.  I am pretty sure I put the brown wire from the wiper switch pigtail on the correct pin.  The only remaining pin on the wiper switch goes to the jumper wire, which I plugged into one of the pins on the washer button, and the other pin got the washer wire from the dash harness.  Does it matter which wire goes on which pin on the back of the washer button?

You could try underhood a jumper wire from power at back of alternator. The the WW pump motor. If it runs then its well grounded .If not bad motor or bad ground where reservior is secured. The switch only has 2 brown wires inside check those connections
