Here are links to the Hi and Lo Bandwidth versions of the Challenger concept car introduction at the NAIAS Detroit Auto Show. Starts out with the usual DCX Execs joking around, then introduces Trevor Creed who goes on to introduce the Challenger concept car... interesting to say the least...

Oh you gotta love this bit from Trevor:

"Bring it on. Yes indeed, bring it on. We're hearing that from passionate people all over the country. So tell me, how could we ignore them? The answer is, we couldn't. So we had to ask ourselves what would that vehicle look like today. Well, let's see. The profile line would be like this, a two door hardtop body style."

Pretty much a complete 180* from his standpoint last year regarding another much beloved nameplate.

This kills me though:

"But there's nothing retro about it. We sought to recreate the Challenger, not as it was, but as enthusiasts see it in their mind's eye... A faithful reincarnation of a musclecar legend."

Interesting bit of press in any case.

Who else got the heebee-geebees from that opening monologue? :D

Thanks for the links, Allen!

You are quite welcome...  Remember that public statements are sometimes made to mislead... I know for a fact that the Challenger was well under development when Trevor Creed made his less than tactful statements last year.  The development started in January 2004, two full years ago... also note that the initial sketch released which was the final configuration of the concept development had a April 2005 date on it...  Not to defend Mr Creed too much tho, 'cuz I wish Doug Schramm had his job!!!
