Since we got the charger we talk about a lot that would be cool to have chased by cops like in the movies :popcrn:!this is more daydreaming then anything else cuz of the consequences and danger of course but still would be cool!is it just us thinking about it and watched the Bullit and Blues Brothers too many times :drive: or others thought it would be cool!

......106 miles to chicago, we gotta full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses ...

Sorry, couldn't help myself - it just came out........

I ...uh... lived that life a long time ago. Even then, it wasn't cool. It was only cool that we got away, after the fact. Unfortunately, in real life, it always ends the same way; either in jail, or dead. Not trying to be a party pooper, I just have mixed feelings about romanticizing fleeing and eluding.

My father and his cousins are all writing a book together entitled "The Original Dukes". The reason for that name is because their life was three cousins (my dad was blonde and both cousins were dark haired) all doing stupid stuff in my dad's 1970 Dodge Charger R/T in the back dirt roads of a small town called Burns Lake. They outran the cops too many times for my grandmother's liking. They were hounded by the police due the police never really being able to prove anything. They never jumped the charger though, they decided against it at the last moment. They did jump my dad's '69 Chevelle though. There were also a lot of fist fights.

There were also many accidents with that poor Charger although nothing ever serious.

When Dukes of Hazzard first started airing years later my aunt (my dad's sister) phoned up my dad and told him that someone made a TV show about their lives.  :icon_smile_big:

I wonder if someone could create a business where you get into a car and get chased by an officer around a closed course and have it filmed  :scratchchin:

I have a business just like that...very realistic...no closed course though....I will even film it and put it on wildest police chases...as a bonus...at the end of the chase, you get the opportunity to be bitten by a police dog...the cost for all this fun is based on your prior record....if you are not 100% satisfied with your experience you can tell the judge  :icon_smile_big:

A few times each year I have a dream where I am in a hot car and am being chased by the cops.  Sometimes I'm able to realize I am dreaming and then, I REALLY get dangerous! I don't know how unusual it is to be able to become aware that you're "in a dream" but it really is liberating. You can take risks that no sane person ever would. This sort of thing would make dreams so much more fun!

My mind was in the gutter on this one also

Did my share of cops and robbers when I was a kid.  When I was 18, I had an alarm in my car that sounded like a cop siren.   It wasn't uncommon for Mikey to pull over a car load of girls on a Friday night :whistling: :whistling:

I had a 88 Mustang ( I know!) and each weekend night as I was going home I would go through the school parking lot first to see if anyone was necking, or more, and scare the living day lights out of them.  Turn the corner, hit the high beams and siren and heads and cloths were jumping like crazy.

Boy, those were the days.   :icon_smile_big:

Gosh, there were so many tracks in Ohio I don't remember which one was closest...We raced in Zanesville, Columbus, Marion, Van Wert, Canton, Greenville, and a couple little local tracks up in the northwest area. We even raced a concrete arena short-track on coke syrup in January once...it was so cold that motor oil wouldn't pour out of the bottle.

I lived that life when I was younger but not anymore. Once, a rich guy and his midget son once offered me $80,000 to haul 400 cases of Coors Light from Texarcana to Atlanta, so I got a buddy of mine to drive the truck while I blocked for him, but we got chased by this crazy Sheriff across several states and..... wait, I don't think that's MY story. :icon_smile_big:
