Brian, are you using a carb insulating base gasket ? These are thicker base gaskets which help with conductive heat.

It could be boiling fuel which is causing vapor lock and flooding....

I will have to try that Ron. As it does not have those, althought it wasnt really all that hot. Not alot of hood clearance either......

Brian, if you have an IR heat gun just shoot some temps of the intake manifold and carbs to compare. If they are close (In temperature) the insulating base gaskets will help.

Let us know how it turns out

It came with a fuel pressure regulater installed and adjusted by Tim at FHO.

When it was doing this it didnt visually flood over that could be seen with the air cleaner of. It was definately loading up though.

Checked fuel pressure today and it was set at 6 1/2 . I backed it down to a little over 5 and if it ever stopps raining again I will test it out again.

Do you think I will have hurt the needle and seats or no?

Edelbroeck likes 5-6psi while holley/proform can take 6-7,5. Except risc for flooding too high pressure wouldn't damage anything.

Eddy carb manual says no more than 6psi at idle. If you have a regulator they recommend 5.5psi . I was having problems with an 800EPS running rich intermittently at cruise. ( my life would be simpler if I had never installed the  A/F ratio gauge) An Edelbrock tech. suggested turning the pressure down to 5.5.  Changing the needle and seats fixed the problem.

With it set at 5psi I took it out for another 20 mile cruze tonight and it worked great!! Thanks for the help guys!

don't know where i got the 6.5 psi from then  :slap:  :icon_smile_blackeye:
wonder if its worth  getting a edlebrock pump then just to decrease .5psi , motor runs awesome , & no probs with 6.5 psi :shruggy:
with the milder cam in there now  running almost 20hg of vacume   at idle

Steve,

Im not sure why and it doesnt seem logical, but most have told me that this is more of a problem with multi carbs . I would think spliting them up would be a pro not a con, but I guess.
