We attended a very nice car show in downtown Calistoga yesterday. It was the first show we've entered since the finished resto of our car and we won a little award! What a great start to the season. We also met JohnnyCharger, his wife and son Logan. They have a 68 under restoration and it was great talking with them. Super nice weather too. More pix coming. Woohoo

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.  ~A. Einstein

Everyone knows Zenobia  :scratchchin:

Zenobia (Julia Aurelia Zenobia Cleopatra) (240 – c. 274 AD) was a 3rd-century Syrian queen of the Palmyrene Empire who led a famous revolt against the Roman Empire. The second wife of King Septimius Odaenathus, Zenobia became queen of the Palmyrene Empire following Odaenathus' death in 267. By 269, Zenobia had expanded the empire, conquering Egypt and expelling the Roman prefect, Tenagino Probus, who was beheaded after he led an attempt to recapture the territory. She ruled over Egypt until 274.

So I guess the award was for the best looking car that also kicks ass.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Thanks gang, it is pretty cool. Zenobia is a Napa Valley ladies boutique. But the bit of history from my 68X426 buddy was both interesting and visually most tasty. :2thumbs:

Getting trophies is nice. Many people scoff at it, saying things like....." Oh, I DON'T care if i win a trophy, I just like to SHOW the car."
Yeah, sure.   I won a first place trophy at the first show I entered the Charger. It was in the "Under Construction" class. It was actually almost finished,  interior work was the last on the list. I was as proud as a man could be. From there I entered a few more shows and did okay. I also pretended to NOT care about the trophy. I don't get all torqued if I drive away empty handed unless a banged up turd scores better than mine. I can certainly understand when a competitors better car wins. THAT is the name of the game.
