My new engine burning oil ***Engine is out***

Bad honejob not allowing oil between rings and walls is the verdict according to a specialized shop
in The Netherlands. Bore in cyl #1 and 2 went from.040" to .055" meaning that I still can reuse
the block with oversize .060".

Should I go for that or look for another block? Will that oversize handle a stroker?

Still don't know if my Engle K60 has got any damages from the mud of metalparticles, would the cam or the lifters take the biggest hit?

What has bothered me a long time is if the machineshop followed my instruction about honing with 400 grit since they wanted to go with 200.

Welcome to my .060 over club Per. Ideally the block would be checked "Sonically" to insure if there is any "core shift" it is in the thrust direction.

0.060" is getting out there. If you are allready at 0.055" that doesn't leave allot.  Before you make
any decisions on reusing the block get it sonically and crack tested, have the bores measured with a torque plate installed,the heads can pull it out of round by a couple of thou, that may put you over the edge.

   Real sorry to see and hear your pain, I have been there as well.
Just my  but I am wondering if maybe you did not have cylinder wash from running to rich. Everything looks very black and rich to me. Would be a very bad deal to put everything back together and have the same problem.

That has been mentioned as one possible reason by many aswell but since the carb never flooded making me have to keep full throttle to get it started again and never smelled any gas from the exhaustpipes I don't see how that could be? I also don't have anu choke.

Tomorrow I will go and have a look at my block, newly bored and honed. Camshaft will be checked to see if it's reusable and pistons will be ordered.

There are hopes again.

Correct Bill, this time everything will be done according to the book.

The pistons will be the same meaning Diamonds special order just a size bigger.
