New Charger project...Canadian?

So my current transportation is on it's last leg and I've been looking for another daily driver. I've had my eye on used toyotas and camrys just cause it's nice to have something reliable and good on gas.  With $4 + gas it's just the responsible thing to do ya know? Anyway that's all just theory and what actually happened was somehow I went out and bought a '73 Charger that looks like something joe dirt would drive. The thing that is interesting is that it has "crusader" emblems on both sides and on the dash. The guy I got it from said it was a canadian charger. Although it was sold new at Spitzer dodge in Columbus, OH. Maybe it was imported?? Anybody ever heard of a crusader charger? Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys.

Ok if I give you guys pics can you try to help me out? I don't see anything special on the fender tag, although there was two... one that is basically blank with a "P" on it and then one with all the codes. From the looks of the 2nd tag I think it came from lynch rd.

Chrysler Canada did make a Crusader, but it was in the 50's and I haven't seen an emblem like that - not that i'm an expert.

Post the VIN # and we can decode it for you. That will tell the true tale.

So I've pretty much figured out the car came from lynch rd so why the emblems? Seems to be excactly zero info on any type of cruesader trim/option.

Agree! In fact, the e,r, and a are close to the same as the "Charger" script font. I'd also be interested in seeing what was on the back of the emblem.

This reminds me of the third gen "Bengal Charger" that came up on this board a while ago. Anyone else remember that one?

yes that i remember that thread  T one interesting forsure ! were'nt there another thrid generation found with a bengal name plate or something too , or am i getting confused with something else

I would guess promotional.  Spitzer was a mega dealer before they coined the term.  At the time they were was plenty large enough to tweak a large number of cars for a promotion.    BUT, this is the only one I've ever seen. 

The emblems are definitely not from the Crusader marine engine company.  However, Crusader was popular model name with the boat companies.

The kicker being though that whomever created that Crusader logo used pretty much the same font of the Charger.
