Hello!

In a few weeks im goin to take my 1972 charger to a friend mechanic, and ask him to do a complet service on my automatic gear box, probably change fluids and a whole new kit to install to leave it like new  :yesnod:

Any suggestions or pointers you would like to give me?

Im guessing servicing a 40 yeard old gear box cant be the same as doing it to the new ones. :coolgleamA:

Thanks.

I'm sure Transporter means gear box as in transmission(tranny) not steering gear box.
Max rim size:15"

Never mind.  Coffee time.

new ones don't need servicing :icon_smile_cool:

just don't use that cork crap gaskets. use the plastic/rubber ones the 48re uses. get a new deep cast pan with a drain plug. use ATF4.

You say "complete service" but then say "a whole new kit to install". Do you intend to just have it serviced or removed/overhauled or a shift kit?

I wouldn't put ATF+4 in a used '72, Dexron/Mercon or type F would be better.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
