i am looking to restore a 66 charger. all the parts are there but some are in need of replacement. where is the best place to find fenders and tail lights for this car? before i drive the 800 miles to pick it up from my grandmothers i need to assess if it is a doable project. are these rare cars?are they hard to find parts for? what am i getting myself into in trying to restore  this year charger? thanks for the tips, advise and help.

Well, fiberglass new fenders are out there.  Plenty of pricey NOS ones and lots of used.  Depends on what you're willing to pay. Coronet ones will work with a bit of modification to the headlamp area.
They used to be next to impossible to find parts for but thanks to guys like Mike at BE&A, much chrome and lens are available.  He has the tail lamps just to mention a few.
Electroluminecent dash is repairable and used ones available there as well.
Nothing is cheap ... but unless it's a Mustang or Chebby ... nothing for any car is cheap these days.
IMHO, they are well worth restoring!

well cool man. i know jack about car restoration. all the parts are a body b body bla bla bla....so what is the classification of the 66 charger? and thanks for your response, i appreciate it.

basically yer car is a "B" body....these are probably the most expensive of the Chargers to restore

the 3 main issues are as follows:

rotating headlights don't work, dash lights don't work, and dash gauges don't work.....

once you get those fixed...everything else is pretty easy

you don't say much about the car, color? engine? trans? options?

come on over to www.66-67charger.com and most of yer restoration questions can be answered there

Like Celtic Frost?

Anyways the 1st gen Charger gets the short end of the stick as far the reproduction market goes, lower number of cars made for one reason.

Post pics of it when you get it & if you change your mind someone here may be interested in buying it.
