My 70' hood does have the reinforcement ribs, But I'm going to cut them out. I also noticed that my 70' hood also has some extra holes (4 of them) in it that also needs filled in as well. JR's Daytona hood doesn't have these holes. The 2 that are on the lower side (down by the cowl) I believe are for turn siginal wiring to go threw. My nose cone I copied off a Ted Janek nose and it's a older casting. I made my grille frame (copied off of Mike's. Sorry Mike) and it fits the Janeks nose quite well, and my nose as well. As far as the latch tray (E. Nelson) went, it wasn't deep enuff, I had to take it a part and lower it about 1/2" to get my hood to close. Mine was hitting on the safty latch.

A friend had a Gene Gregory nose he got back in the day.Had to be modified where fender contour met the nose :Twocents:
My friend Ted Janak had access to a NOS daytona nose right out of the box
I sold Ted alot of Superbird parts from my parts car.
I was trying to buy that daytona that sat in the apts in Houston TX off original owners son who furnished Ted with the NOS nose. And still got the ad when car moved to Arlington TX

NOS daytona nose I looked at back in the day $ 3000.00

waynes  silver car   this is the car with the gene gregory nose on it that has the grille frame opening thats a 1/2 inch to small .

That's odd?,....I wonder if Gene Gregory copied an NOS nosecone,...as I've had requests over the years to make "custom" Tona/Superbird grille frames to fit NOS nosecones were the opening is either distorted/shaped differently, or smaller or larger in "stock" deminsions, seems like it's the guys that have or copy NOS (line reject) nosecones end up with an abnormal honker,....I know Ted Janek molded off an NOS cone when he made his fiberglass offering, that's why the passenger side fender mating edge deminsion is larger, causing it to hang lower on the passenger side, don't know if he has corrected that?.....I'd think the crew of 16 men making nosecones back in day, ALL DAY, DAY AFTER DAY, made quite a few mistakes,....must have been brutal

[/quote] I think really on his cones from the 80's or at least on waynes cone the whole nose is to small , it does not fit well at all up to the fenders either .   :Twocents: :Twocents:
