They were made out of a hard plastic like compound if I remember. They were prone to cracking!

They were made from the same vacuum pressed fiberglass,as the door scoops,on 70 Chargers,and Coronets.

I was looking at those scoops earlier this week.  Mine were melted slightly by the engine fire, but should be able to be re-used (I hope!).

If I read his reply right about his reserve price, he's looking to get well over $3k for the scoops.  He paid nearly $2k, and his reserve is almost 2x what he paid.  Of course, he admits this is an outrageous price, but he's also right that there aren't too many available, if any at all.

I got a set at home like nos condition .Taken off a daytona when it was new cause the stud bosses indents showed on the top.But $ 1000.00 for fender scoops .Yikes .I got that much for a set of daytona/superbird NOS chrysler hood pin kit

Yep, that's the one that was at Carlisle.  Steve (the seller) is a nice guy, and has some cool parts and cars to boot.  That nose was on eBay about 2 months ago, and only garnered one bid - didn't meet reserve.  Maybe the "market" has heated up some with the sale of that last 'cone??

I can only imagine how much work it will take to straighten it out though...

More daytona stuff ended up on ebay $3000.00 for a correct rib free daytona hood .A real trunk lid .And another nose cone has surfaced

What is different about the hood from a standard hood?  It is suprising this guy seems to be parting out a Daytona...  What gives?  I thought people these days were restoring anything...

The main noticable thing as compared to a 70 charger hood.The under sideof a 69 daytona hood has no crash ribs .I call them up in the front underside area Unlike the ones seen under 70 charger hoods.The difference in the fenders are the flush edge where they meet the front daytona valance.And the fender never had the side marker lights the holes were never punched open on genuine daytona fenders

Superbirds had the Coronet fenders & modified (lengthened) Coronet hood.  Daytona's had primarily '70 Charger front clip parts.

Dave's right about the crash (or strengthening) ribs in the front underneath side of most Daytona hoods.  I say most hoods, since there are some people whose Daytona hood has the ribs, and they swear up and down its original to their car.  I would say that most cars' hoods did not have the ribs, but there are probably original cars with ribs in their hood.

There are a couple of other small nuances on original Daytona fenders too.  I'd have to get my photos from David Patik where he points out the differences in some stamped tabs.  I've checked my car, and the things he points out are visible on my fenders. 

My personal opinion is that the Daytonas were given essentially some pre-production run parts, like the hood.  It was never intended to be different than a regular Charger's hood, but because of their early production, the parts were apparently not standardized or finalized just yet.  The fenders were unique because of the fittment of the front valance and marker lights (as Dave alluded to), but apart from that the fender was probably intended to be a '70 Charger variety.

The inner fenders on a Daytona are '69s (from the original front clip installation at Hamtramck).  The '70 style fenders don't mate up to the '69 inner fenders quite right because of the differences, which leaves some telltale signs visible on original cars.

Can you guys believe the price of the 500 Decklid? $3,500 and he admits that he repaired it with half of another deck lid to make it complete again? Anyone else notice that it is the same high bidder on each and every one of the aero parts? Is that a schill bid, or is it someone who just needs all the aero parts for a clone or a restoration?
