I found my pic of my first car.I bought this in 1977 for $250 when I was 14.A month later I bought a 70 Road Runner for $135.When I told the kids at school I bought a Charger everyone( except a few in the know) made fun of me.Too many Chevy lovers. These are the same people that now want Mopars.I miss the good old days.

Being 14 and having a charger isn't completely impossible you know. :)

True, not very common though. For me I didn't get my first car until 18 ('72 Monte Carlo 350-350)

I know what you mean,I had to put up with the chevy guys making fun of the Charger too,but after they saw the back of it enough times they weren't laughing anymore!

Blown70

I got my first when I was 14 too.  69 R/t SE,  Although I paid $2000 for it.....

So which one did you keep longer out of the two?

One thing that always strikes me funny is how a 7 year old car can look like it's 20 years old, ya know? It's almost like they start out new, rapidly get beat up, owners lose interest & trade them for something else to beat on...and the car looks like that for quite a while longer.
I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it sure seems that way sometimes...even with cars today.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I had the Road Runner about a year and the Charger for 2.I live in one of those cities where even if you are working on a car it has to be registered , inspected, etc. or they force you to get rid of it. So to make a long story short...I MISS THAT CAR!

Nice.  My first car was actually a Ford that belonged to my father.  He "sold" it to me when I wrecked it at 16.  Two years later I bought my first Mopar.  It was a 71 Challenger 340 'vert that I paid 1200 for in 79.  Hmmm, I wonder what it would be worth today?

haueter66

I got my 71 charger at age 14, which was ten years ago, for $1200  :icon_smile_big:

i dont think those deals exist anymore tho...

But I DID manage to get a speeding ticket the first day I drove it alone ::)

This is my first Mopar. I was about 24 when I got it. I had it 10 years. Wish I never sold it :rotz:
