stainless steel/chrome?

It's probably not worth the cost/trouble.  A new repop set is like $60-$70.

the reason i was asking is that im going to have my 68 chargers chrome done in black chrome (all chrome) but didnt know if the sill plates could be done thx dean

Hmm, I don't know then.  I don't know if they are stainless steel or chromed metal, or if that even matters.  Hopefully someone else will be by with some help.

Don't think all the repro ones are aluminium.
The ones I bought are more like chromed tin.
I'd have a go at getting a new set of those done.

oh right !!     never seen a repop one  only originals !  just polished mine up with a mop & compound !!

Repro ones are the polished alluminum type.  The original door sills for our chargers were brushed from what I have seen and not polished which makes the repros incorrect.  Forget the fact that the repros do not fit worth a damn either!
