I saw that pure hell roadster a few times out at Raisen City drag strip outside of Fresno. He used to take off out of the hole and set his tires on fire. Back in the day.

Those days are long gone... Too bad they don't do a get together at the HMB Airport where they do the Dream Machines show.

Nostalgia racing is awesome. If you are anywhere in California or Nevada, you might want to attend this event:

I went last year and had a blast.

Also, this next event has great reputation for fun, though I haven't made it there yet. Kingdon was the center of action back in the day.

Ahh, yes, the 1520. Everything was longer back in the day.  :yesnod:

Couldn't pass up having fun with the typo.

Great pics and video. Thanks.

Great photos & link, as a born & raised northern Calif. guy & son of a fellow gear head, I went to all those tracks plus all the SoCal tracks with my step father & his Pontiacs, from when I was Knee high to a grasshopper, they left out Vacaville & Sacramento, unforunitly by the late 70's almost all of those tracks were gone. I loved Freemont/Baylands & Sears Point/Infinion, I lived in the east bay Concord, Ca. for most my early years, off & on for 30 years. I remember when there was no guard rails & a water ditch all the way down the right side of the track at Freemont. If your chute didn't deploy you ended up in a onion field at the end of the track. I like the old photos of Vic Hubbards Speed shop, they were far bigger in my day, they were 1 of my first sponcers on my Blown BB powered  Comp. Eliminator 23T Alterd (modeled after Nannook) in the mid 70's, Alky oil & plugs whoopy.    Budnicks

Verry cool photos. That looks like "Jungle Jim Liberman" & the notorious "Jungle Pam" I remember her chest being alot bigger...LOL...They were regulars at Sacramento Sears Point & Freemont/Baylands. Does anyone have photos of the old Northern Nationals at Freemont Raceway?  Budnicks

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Cool shot, I grew up at Freemont/Baylands, starting in the early 60's, I would like to get some old photos from pops & share them sometime.  Budnicks
