Just looking at the rain pounding the window and daydreaming about cars so I started to wonder if I would still have been a Mopar fan if there had never been a Dodge Charger.
I like to think yes!  :2thumbs:

And forgive me if this one has already been done.

BananaDan

Yep.  I was born into it.  My entire family has only ever owned Chrysler products.  My grandfather used to work for them.

Yes, but not as much so. I would have liked the other Mopars about as much as I like classic Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles, etc., now, which is a lot, but not enough to make me want to buy one instead of a Charger. That said I'm so used to Mopar now I still don't think I'd buy a Ford or Chevy before I'd buy a Barracuda or GTX if Chrysler had never built the Charger. But had they never built the Charger I can't say for certain that I'd be much of a Mopar guy.

I was just telling my boss the other day that if Chevy had built the Charger my life would have been much easier. I have to admit I'm rather envious of Chevy guys who can pick up a crate 350 along with a bag of chips and a Coke down at the nearest 7-11.

Now,.. assuming they never built a '69 Charger R/T SE or second Gen. Charger for that matter... There'd be a '69 tripple black GTX in the garage.  :shruggy: it was a turbine bronze '66 GTX HEMI that made me fall in love with MOPAR period.

  I agree. I like the Chevelles and Camaros and I like the 66 - early 70's GTO's too. But I would still be a Mopar man because I love the Dusters and the E bodies alike.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

TruckDriver

I grew up with Chevy's and Ford's.The family has always been pure GM products, and all the family friends were mostly all Ford people. I only got into Chrysler products cause I lost my driver's licence with my '74 Nova, and I wanted something slower ('78 Aspen R/T with a 318 that I thought looked cool). Did a even up trade for it.  So, I most likely would be a hardcore Mustang or Camaro guy as I love Mustang's and Camaro's now as much as I love Charger's. Although, since I am not a one brand of car guy, I like a little of everything including a few imports like Nissan's GT-R's & some Ferrari's and a few others. But that said, when it comes to trucks, I am a diehard Dodge truck guy, and only had 2 Chevy S10 Blazers, and a Ford Aerostar mini van that were not bad, but nothing like a Dodge truck. So that said, if I go back to Chevy's or Ford's (which may come true soon cause Mopar's are to expensive to fix up), I will ALWAYS be a Dodge truck guy.

Hell Yeah, if only because of the legendary Hemi (first and second gen).

Probably...     but part of me would still like a Torino Cobra like my cousin gave me my first muscle car ride in way back when tearing around St. Clair Shores.

My first car was a 70 Challenger but my second car - a 68 Charger - was the one that I really fell in love with. At the time I had the only Mopars out of everyone I hung out with so if it weren't for the Charger I'd have bought a Mustang (and I did a few years later). However, I like a lot of different cars and I'm not necessarily brand loyal in the first place.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

TXcharger70

I was into to mopar since a kid always loved the Cuda though

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Darkman

I was into Aussie Mopars from as long as I could remember. I was 2 when the first mopar came into our life. A brand new 1976 Valiant Regal and I was 26 when it departed (sad day that was). When I found out hoe much Dad sold it for, I flipped because at double the price, it was still a bargain and I wasn't even asked if I wanted to buy it!

I'd have to say yes. My second favorite car is the 70 Cuda, and then we get into the Road Runners and Challengers.  Great looking cars. The late 60s and early 70s are really the Mopar iron I fell in love with. There are a few bow-ties in there that I like too but the Mops are still my fav!

Back N Black

I love Mopar's,chevys and Fords. I have a charger and would love to have a 67 Mustang fast back and a 69 Chevelle parked in the garage. :2thumbs:

pipeliner

Hell yes!Would give almost anything to have a 69 A12 Superbee.

chargerjy9

Mopar has been putting bread on my table for 50 years. I bleed Mopar Blue. I love Chargers, and if it ain't Mopar, it's no car. I tend not to look at other makes the way I do Chyrsler. there is plenty about Mopar to enjoy besides our beloved B body.

Chargers got me started, but then came Superbee's and Roadrunners, so it was inevitable.

I wasn't influenced by any family members or friends.... it was just pretty obvious who made the best.

Well for some reason I LOVE the 1970 Sport Fury GT so I would have one of those if not for the Charger.

I would be an Oldsmobile guy if not for the Charger with Mopar second.

I would like to think yes. If not a charger it would be a 62 or 63 max wedge car or at least clone.
