fuel pump discharge line size...how to get to 3/8" line?

I bought a new fuel pump for my Charger (stockish 440 - 4 barrel) a few months ago, and installed it.  Now, I'm trying to install a fuel line between my carburetor and fuel pump.  The carb is a mechanical double pumper with a Holley line that is 3/8" and splits to each fuel bowl.  However, at the fuel pump discharge, the female threaded connection is 1/4".  A 3/16" dia brake line, which has 1/4" threaded fittings, will screw right into that.  But, the flow area of a 3/16" brake line is way too small to feed the engine, and you can't attach a 3/8" ID rubber fuel line to it either.  I even went back to the auto parts store, and checked out a few other fuel pumps, like for a 440 6pack for instance, and the fuel pump always has that same small 1/4" female threaded end...

I don't have any of the original parts to this car, but I'm guessing even a stock 383 or 440 had at least a 5/16 fuel line between pump and carb, correct?

How are you guys getting from the pump outlet, up to a 3/8" fuel line?  HELP!!?!

You need a 1/4inch npt to either 3/8 hose barb or flare. or 1/4 inch npt to 3/8ths flare nut.

Fitting size in fuel pump discharge is female, 1/8" NPT, not 1/4".  I had to order a 1/8" male NPT to 3/8" hose barb adapter.
