I don't know, but I love it!  :yesnod:

Isn't the drivers side mirror wrong though ???

Don't get me wrong, its a nice looking car and I love the cloth seats, but I do see a few glaring problems with it.

1) Drivers door mirror is wrong.
2) Bondo lines visible on C-Pillars
3) Cheesy chrome kit on engine
4) No under hood AC components

And power drum brakes?  That may be correct, but it just seems so WRONG!  Why would you order an R/T with Air and power brakes and not opt for the Disk option?  :shruggy:

Just my two cents.  If I had the money, I'd still buy it

Dave22443: Discs in 68 weren't ordered on many cars.

There's lots wrong with the car but it could be fun if it doesn't go too high.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Nice California home.......I'd say this guy is loaded, has lots of spare money around to buy whatever he wants, drives it for a while then sells and moves on to something else.

The beauty of the exterior makes up for the underhood discrepencies for me. Two hours or so with the correct parts in the boiler room and taa-dah. But that is one of the sweetest looking combos and cars around.

NYCMille

There's too much black paint on the underside of the car for my taste... like EVERYWHERE... it's nice looking no doubt, I can see this having a lot of hidden gremlins for some reason... little things, the air cleaner is the wrong size and where is the breather on the valve cover, plus if you look at the door jams you can see plain as day that there looks to RUST spots that were just painted over. Maybe it's me, but I'd be weary of this car...

Nice looking though, I'm a sucker for a black 68' with a red stripe.

hemi68charger

I see that car and man, I kick myself in the ass for even thinking of getting rid of my '68 hemi.........  But, the k-member and rearend housing are getting painted this week... Progress... I'm going to build, with the help of a friend, a dolly to set the k-member on with the engine.....

This is the same guy that had a car very similar with a bunch of '68 & '69 pieces combined.   I'm not so sure it's not the same car from about a year ago.
That's the same thing I was thinking...but nope, here's the one from last year. Different stripe & no vinyl top.
Obviously the same photographer taking the pics, though. :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

THE CHARGER PUNK

it might be same car because the last black/silver car had a coulumn shift and a/c vents-MATT

i dig the way the front grill looks. i want to do mine like that. Rene

Those are definitely glaring errors, especially the bondo lines and mirror; very tacky work on an otherwise nice car.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

One guy tried to get it for $20k... hahaha

I thought I read somewhere that disks were required/standard on the R/T for '68.  I'll have to try to dig that up.  Maybe it was power brakes as standard, but not necessarily disks.....hmmmmm...

Silver R/T

he should've used spell check too. From the description it sounds like he's describing 2 year old Lamborghini. Although it does look nice on outside in the pictures Im sure it doesnt look as nice in person after some inspection. It does look like someone spray painted whole underside of the car too

Yep...I checked into that.  The R/Ts came with "heavy duty" brakes, a step up from baseline, and the drums were standard, but the disks were optional.

One other thing that I noticed that the car has and I thought wasn't an option or standard on 68's was the headrests......wasn't it 69 when the seats got headrests?
Correct me if I'm wrong!!   :shruggy:

I'm 99% sure headrests were an option in 68.

I personally like the picture where it appears that he has hit the stop sign with the front of the car. The stop sign is leaning in front of the car at the same angle that the car is facing.

Beautiful car though, but should be red.

I like it! That's a good looking car. Problems and all.

Mopar was slow to get on the disc brake bandwagon and in 1968, it wasn't a cheap option for what poeple perceived they were getting.  After all, Mopar HD brakes were 11 inch drums and GTO's came standard with what, 9 inch?  Charger RT buyers figured they were already getting heavy enough brakes as standard.
