Does anyone have pics of George Poteets 68 Charger?

Charger_Fan

That's the guy who made this one, I believe...yes/no?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Afflyer

It'd look a helluva lot better without those pimpin wheels.

NASCAR/RACING INSPIRED?  Supposed to be anyway.

I REALLY DO NOT LIKE HOW LOW THE OTHER ONE IN THE POST ABOVE IS AND WAS GOING TO DO THAT.... :icon_smile_dead:

Yep, it's a NASCAR theme. See the little covers over the rear bumper edges, like they did back in the day? There's lots more NASCAR themed stuff inside & in the engine bay, but for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw those pics!

I knew I should have saved them that day.  :-\

i'm not a big fan of those big wheels but if your gonna have them , thats how they look best. when you can only see 3/4 of them
I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

I like the first one, sure it has BIG rims but at least they are not the standard "bling" style. Now that second one besides the motor choice was a mistake at best.

And why do both have the wrong style stripe on them?

If guys want to use modern styling licks on cars, why not use a modern car? While I am sure the craftmanship and execution of work is top drawer on these cars......they are totally out of their element - and a Honda Element may have been a better starting point.
Bloody crime about the lightening holes in the rad support. :rotz:

TruckDriver

That silver one looks like something they would do if Chip Foose got ahold of it. What a waste of a nice car (except the hemi).  :puke: Shaved door handles and mirrors only look good on pre 50s hot rods in my opinion.

I think that the first one is very, very nice and does look alot of Nascar inspiration.
I wonder what size the wheels and tires are on that white one are???

And hey if all Chargers were always restored to what their build sheet or fender tag
says than this hobby would be really boring....dont think it would be good for the hobby, but
to each their own.

The first one looks good (white one) but this second one...... A waste   O0  Looks more like an abortion than a Charger.

This ticket is only $69.00 ?  If I'd have known that I'd have been going FASTER !

68ChargerJMP

I think the one Strope built for Poteet has 335 45 18's on the rear.

So...if Strope built it for Poteet, is that 1st one the one you were thinking of? :ahum:

This is just a guess but overall I'd say they don't seem too concerned with the stock look. ;)

Charger Steve

I am not impressed at all! To do this to a classic like the 68 Charger should be a crime. Just my opinion, I guess anyone can do what they want with thier car but this is sick!

Those hideous wheels need to go! Whats up with this blinging wheels on muscle cars? They almost never match and look like they belong on a soccer mom suv! Put some real wheels on it no larger than 17's and then they would be better. Or if its nascar inspired, why not put nascar wheels on it? Other wise the bodies paint and other stuff look really great!

What a CRIME to put those holes in the rad support!  Mod all you want, it's your car, but don't start to kill another one!!!!

I don't think they did.

Look at the rad support again, I don't see any shadow showing that its recessed like they are. I think they "boxed" the rad support and then cut holes in the aded metal.

I personally like what Strope did to the white one, I'd only add some big vintage NASCAR wheels/tires like that black open road racer 68 has.
If someone else on here took a 318 run of the mill Charger and did that, people would praise it but agree to disagree on the wheel choice.
